Individual Therapy in Toronto
Therapy that helps you make sense of yourself.
There are moments in life when we realize we've outgrown the ways we've learned to survive.
Maybe you keep finding yourself in the same kinds of relationships. Maybe anxiety has become exhausting. Maybe you're questioning your relationship with alcohol or other substances. Or maybe nothing is "wrong" exactly - you just have a sense that you've lost touch with yourself.
You might understand your patterns logically, yet still feel stuck repeating them. You may wonder why you care so much about what other people think, why setting boundaries feels so difficult, or why relationships seem to bring out parts of you that you don't fully understand.
Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, become curious about these experiences, and begin making sense of them.
Together, we'll explore the patterns, relationships, and experiences that have shaped the way you cope, connect, and move through the world. Because when things begin to make sense, change often follows naturally.
You might be here because…
You keep wondering, “why do I always end up here?”
You feel disconnected -from yourself, your relationships, or the life you imagined.
You find yourself people-pleasing, avoiding conflict, or struggling to set boundaries.
Relationships feel harder than they seem to for everyone else.
You're questioning your relationship with alcohol or other substances.
You're navigating a life transition and questioning who you are now.
Anxiety, overthinking, or self-doubt have become exhausting.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You don't even need to know exactly what you want to work on. If something feels difficult, confusing, or keeps showing up despite your best efforts, that's enough.
You don't necessarily want someone to tell you what to do. You want to understand yourself differently.
My Approach
My work is relational, attachment-informed, and trauma-aware.
That means I'm interested in understanding not only what's happening in your life today, but also how your experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself, the people around you, and the world.
I draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Rather than following a set formula, I adapt therapy to the person sitting in front of me.
Some sessions are emotional.
Some are reflective.
Some are surprisingly light.
Therapy doesn't have to look one particular way to be meaningful.
Some of the things we might explore together…
Relationship patterns
Attachment and emotional intimacy
Anxiety and overthinking
Childhood and family experiences
People-pleasing and boundaries
Self-worth and identity
Life transitions
Grief and loss
Substance use and recovery
Feeling disconnected from yourself
You don't need to fit neatly into one category. Therapy begins with your story.
What Changes?
Therapy doesn't erase your past.
It doesn't mean life suddenly becomes easy.
What often changes is your relationship with yourself.
You begin recognizing your patterns instead of feeling controlled by them.
You become less afraid of your emotions.
You trust yourself more.
Relationships begin to feel safer.
Boundaries become less frightening.
You stop spending so much energy trying to become the person you think you're supposed to be.
And you start feeling more comfortable being who you already are.
Ready when you are
Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable.
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, I'd be happy to meet with you for a free 15-minute consultation. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and decide together whether working together feels like the right next step.
-
$180 for a 50-minute individual psychotherapy session. Payment is due at the time of your appointment, and you'll receive a receipt that you can submit to your extended health insurance provider if your plan covers Registered Psychotherapists.
-
Many people begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions, particularly at the start of therapy. Over time, we may adjust the frequency based on your goals, progress, and what feels most supportive for you.
-
Not usually. While I may occasionally invite you to notice patterns or reflect on something between sessions, my work is less focused on worksheets and more focused on understanding your experiences, emotions, and relationships.
-
Yes. I offer in-person therapy in Toronto as well as virtual therapy across Ontario. During your consultation, we can discuss which option feels like the best fit for you.
